Meta Ads for Pune interior designers — what's actually working in 2026

Kairos Media Team7 min read

Real campaign breakdowns from interior firms we run in Pune — what converts, what burns budget, and how AI changed the workflow this year.

Eighteen interior firms across Pune. Three years of Meta Ads spend. About ₹6.4 crore moved through the platform on behalf of our clients between January 2024 and May 2026. This post is the honest version of what we've learned — what actually drives site visits for an interior designer in Pune in 2026, and what's quietly stopped working.

What's working in 2026 (and what changed)

Two big shifts happened in the last 18 months. First, Meta's Advantage+ shopping and lead generation campaigns finally beat manual structures for most interior accounts — at the cost of giving up a lot of targeting control. Second, AI-generated creative — done right — outperforms studio-shot creative in the testing phase, even though hero ads still come from real project shoots.

  • Advantage+ Lead Gen campaigns now win ~70% of our A/B tests against manually structured campaigns. Less control, better delivery.
  • Reels eat carousel CPC by 30–45%. Vertical, sound-on, captioned, 9–15 seconds. Static carousels are best kept for remarketing.
  • Whatsapp lead handover converts 2–3× higher than form submissions for the bridal/HNI interior segment in Pune. People want to chat, not fill forms.
  • Geographic targeting works hardest at the suburb level — Baner, Wakad, Hinjewadi, Viman Nagar, Kothrud, Aundh. Pune-wide reaches too many low-intent users.

Creative — the actual heart of the campaign

Targeting in 2026 is mostly Meta's job. Creative is yours. We brief one project moodboard, one walkthrough reel and one before/after carousel per project, then let AI generate 15–25 variant headlines and primary text per concept. A human editor cuts that down to 5–6 strong variants per concept before launch.

What's quietly stopped working

  • Long-form 'kitchen tour' reels over 30 seconds — drop-off after 6 seconds is too steep. Cut hero shots and a clear price-range line in the first 4 seconds.
  • Generic 'modular kitchen starting at ₹3.5L' ads — too many studios on the same hook. Lead with a project story or designer credit instead.
  • Lookalike audiences off purchase events (we ran 1% and 2%) — quality degraded sharply this year. We switched most clients to interest + behavior layering plus Advantage+ exploration.
  • Cold lead-form campaigns with 7+ fields — Meta penalises completion rate. Three fields max, qualify on the WhatsApp follow-up.

What a working monthly Meta Ads structure looks like

For most Pune interior firms we run, the monthly structure is simple — three campaigns, two for acquisition and one for remarketing. Budget split is roughly 65/20/15.

  • Advantage+ Lead Gen (65% of budget) — the workhorse. WhatsApp lead form, Reels-first creative, suburb-level geo targeting. New campaign per featured project.
  • Conversion campaign — site-visit booking (20% of budget) — direct to a slim landing page with a calendar widget. Tracked with Conversions API for iOS resilience.
  • Remarketing campaign (15% of budget) — carousel + reels to website visitors and WhatsApp opens from the last 60 days. Different creative, more social proof.

Numbers — what to expect at each spend tier

From accounts we ran across Pune over the last six months, here's roughly what spend tier maps to which volume of qualified site-visit leads. 'Qualified' means: filled the form OR replied to WhatsApp, lives in Pune, and project budget ≥ ₹4L.

  • ₹25,000/mo — 8–14 qualified leads. CPL ₹1,800–₹3,100. Best as a 'is this market reachable' test, not a steady-state strategy.
  • ₹50,000/mo — 22–35 qualified leads. CPL ₹1,400–₹2,300. Where most of our interior clients run.
  • ₹1,00,000/mo — 50–80 qualified leads. CPL ₹1,250–₹2,000. Now you need 2–3 senior designers handling consultations or quality drops.
  • ₹2,00,000/mo — 110–160 qualified leads. CPL stays roughly flat — the bottleneck stops being ads and becomes your studio's consultation throughput.

Where AI changed the workflow

We are the marketing arm of Axgen AI, so AI sits in the campaign workflow at four specific points — and we know what AI is genuinely good at vs where it still loses to a human.

  • Creative variants — AI wins. 15–25 ad copy variants per concept in minutes.
  • Audience research — AI wins. Pulling phrases from competitor ad libraries, Quora threads and YouTube comments.
  • Reporting — AI wins. Monthly client reports written in plain English in 10 minutes, fact-checked by a human.
  • Daily anomaly detection — AI wins. We get pinged when a campaign goes off the rails before it burns ₹20K.
  • Strategy and offer testing — human still wins. AI doesn't understand bridal Pune buying psychology yet.
